“Sad Girls” by Lang Leav: Favorite Quotes

A girl who cried wolf
A boy in sheep’s clothing
A killer romance
A deadly secret

My sister gave me a going-away present before I left the Philippines to migrate to a different country. I was so HAPPY to get a copy of SAD GIRLS (ha!) because I am an Instagram fan of international best-selling author Lang Leav.

Instagrammers even took selfies with their Sad Girls copies. I think it has a very interesting book cover.

Lang Leav describes sadness so truthfully and painfully.

Here are a few of my favorite lines from Sad Girls:

“The most beautiful things are damaged in some way.”

“Relationships are complex things. On the surface it should be simple. But it’s like an onion. So many layers there. The mother-daughter relationship seems to be a particularly tough one. But they tend to work themselves out as you get older.”

Youth is wasted on the young.”

Grief is such a potent thing. That’s what I’ve learned. It’s like a hot iron, you can barely stand to hold it. But you don’t have a choice. The only way you can set it down, even if it’s temporary, is to refocus the energy elsewhere. I’ve only been able to do that through writing.”

Work that is touched by melancholy has its own unique beauty.”

Being a mother can be sad sometimes. Growing old can be sad. Being a parent can be stressful. That is why it is so important to have some “me-time”. I like to read a book for pleasure and to spend a bit of time writing to express pent-up emotions. This helps me #staysane.

My copy of Sad Girls was bought in Fully Booked, Philippines. You can get also check out book reviews and prices of Sad Girls on Amazon. Check out my affiliate links below:
