1. Describe yourself as a mom.

I’m an organized but laid-back kind of mom. I like for my kids to explore the world for themselves and think of myself as the guide! In result of this, I think my kids have gained knowledge from experiencing things for themselves and molding their own opinions about things.

2. Tell us a little bit about your family.

My husband is a marine and has been gone many times which makes us appreciate every moment together! I have my boutique but also am a teacher. I teach our 4-year-old son at home while our 6-year-old daughter goes to first grade public school. They are both crazy and wild but loving and kind. We also have a fur baby, Zeus. He is probably the biggest baby in the family!

3. Tell us a little bit about your boutique business.

My LuLaRoe Boutique is something I cherish! It’s the first time I can say I’m doing something for myself. I think it’s easy as a teacher, wife, and mother to get lost in doing things for others. Making sure everyone else is happy, content, and flourishing. This business was the first time I did something for me! I’ve always loved fashion and clothes. This lets me be creative and style not only myself but others.

4. How do you manage your time as a mom and as an entrepreneur?

This one gets tricky day by day. But like everything in life, it’s about balance. Planning out my week and setting goals is a must! It’s definitely a plus to set my own schedule but I know I have to do income-producing activities or it will become useless scrolling on the internet. It’s also making sure to treat my business like a business. Even if it’s only an hour that day, I’m going to make the most of it!

5. Share your fashion tips!

Tips would definitely be to create your own kind of beautiful! Make sure you are comfortable and confident and everyone will see that! When it comes to my clothing, I tell people to look for the prints they like first, because we can work with the sizing. I have many tips in my group for cinching or wrapping the clothes to fit you! Don’t be afraid to push the boundaries a little. Stripes, polka dots, and floral are all great for a little pattern mixing. Not that bold? Not a problem! Maybe try a new color on you! I know so many women that tell me their closet is monochromatic. Break out of your bubble and let a little color into your life, you never know, you might just love it!

Thanks for the advice, Karissa!

I hope this has inspired you to be creative with your own style! If you look and feel your best, you can be more energized to tackle all your responsibilities at home and at work.

Biore UV Perfect Bright Face Milk: My Holy Grail Sunscreen

After what seemed to be an endless hunt for the perfect sunscreen for the face, I have finally found my HG! A close friend who is a fellow skin care enthusiast recommended Biore to me because it’s really good… so I decided to check it out at the nearest Watsons. There were two kinds on display- a pink one and a blue one. I decided to go for the pink one because of the word bright (and because pink caught my attention). True enough, the Biore UV Perfect Bright Face Milk turns out to be an amazing product. It’s made in Japan, and we all know that means high quality. I think it’s even better than Clinique’s City Block SPF 45.

  1. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on the face. Its texture is similar to Shiseido‘s liquid foundation.
  2. It can act as a makeup base, and it gives my skin this light pinkish glow. It also does not leave an ugly white cast on your face. It’s also good for covering pores! It mixes well with my CosRx CC Cushion (another amazing product that I will blog about later).
  3. It is light-scented, and it doesn’t smell like the usual sunblock.
  4. It has SPF 50+, which is pretty high!
  5. It helps make my skin less oily even after a hot and sweaty day.

It’s a bit pricey at Php380 for 30ml, but then again, you get what you pay for! On Amazon, it’s $7.86 for 30ml.

I have yet to try the blue and white variants. Have you tried any Biore products? What do you think of them?

Palmer’s Massage Cream for Stretchmarks and Skin Therapy Oil Review

Did you get any stretch marks during and after pregnancy? For my first pregnancy, I used Palmer’s Massage Cream. I was so diligent in using Palmer’s every night, and I swear I did not get a single stretch mark on my tummy.

However, on my second pregnancy, I was not as consistent in keeping up with this beauty routine. I ended up with stretch marks on the sides of my tummy (a.k.a. love handles). So now I’m using it post-pregnancy to help reduce them ( I know they won’t be gone 100% and that’s okay #tigerstripes). The cocoa variant smells a little bit like Yakult (the Japanese yogurt milk drink) and so I was excited to try out their Skin Therapy rosehip oil version. I personally love the rosehip oil variant because of its scent. It also does not feel sticky and it gets absorbed by the skin right away (perfect for the humid weather in the Philippines).

Which products did you use to help reduce stretch marks? Have you tried other brands like Mustela and Bio Oil? Share in the comments below!
