Meet Carmela

Ciao! I am glad that you found my little space in the blogosphere. So happy to hang out with you, even just for a while.

I’m Carmela, the creator of Bellissimamma. Bellissimamma is a combination of “Bellissima” (the Italian word for “beautiful”) and “Mamma” (“mother”). It is a blog where I write about motherhood, travel, Italy,  lifestyle, literacy, language learning, fashion, and beauty. Through this blog, I am able to connect with kindred spirits! It is always a pleasure to meet other parents, expats, travelers, fashionistas, makeup lovers, teachers, and foreign language learners in the wonderful www.

Before I became a work-at-home mother and blogger, I was a professional elementary and early childhood teacher for ten years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Early Grades. After a few years, I earned my graduate diploma in Language and Literacy Development.

When my family moved to Italy last year, I decided to take a break from my teaching career to stay home with my two children. Teaching has always been my passion, and I consider it my greatest privilege to be my kids’ first teacher.

My Family

I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband. He is my best friend and we have known each other since college. We have been married for five years now. Our two boys, Leon and Lucas, are our pride and joy.  Together we are on this expat journey, the newest adventure of our life.

Cheers,
